How MrBearIT securely erases customer-owned storage and returns it with a certificate.

Erasure & Return only
This service is for customer-owned equipment that is securely erased and returned. Ownership does not transfer to MrBear LTD and equipment booked under this service is not refurbished, parted out or resold by us.
Before erasure
The customer must tell us whether the data has already been backed up, is no longer required, or whether a separate data-preservation service is required. MrBearIT does not create a backup automatically.
Irreversible authorisation
Secure erasure is intended to permanently remove existing data. We will not start the destructive wipe until the customer has expressly authorised it.
Method and timing
The sanitisation method is selected according to the storage media and the agreed service. A customer-specified or extended method may take materially longer and may cost more; that is quoted before work begins.
Certificate
Successful verified erasure includes a certificate retained in BearOS and made available to the customer. If media fails, becomes inaccessible or cannot be verified, we will record the failure and agree the next step rather than issuing a successful-erasure certificate.
Return state
Unless another service is separately agreed, equipment is returned without the previous data and may not contain an installed operating system.
Collection and return
Where MrBearIT travels specifically to collect or return equipment, the published home-visit travel policy applies and any travel charge is agreed in advance.
